In the January 2018 school holidays, Marissa Price, Young Adult Author, and The Literature Factory will be running a variety of creative writing and literary drama courses at the Island Dance studios on Benabrow Avenue, Bellara.
Literary Drama workshops are amazing fun! Through the arts of drawing, acting and singing, storytelling is brought to life for children of all ages. Our drama workshops are foot stamping, toe tapping, hand clapping fun. Classical tales such as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Three Billy Goats Gruff provide opportunities for our students to fully immerse themselves in literature.
Our fractured fairytales workshop encourages our kids to look beyond the conventional, the original and the safe. Our students are taken through a creative process of choosing their favourite fairytale or folk tale and twisting it to create a new story, or offer a different perspective on a well loved tale.
Calling all writers! The Literature Factory is running workshops for both younger and adult writers over the Summer holidays. If you've dreamed of being a writer, want to have some fun with characters and plots, or have a manuscript you want to elevate to the next level, these workshops are for you.
All workshops are $25pp and groups will be divided according to age and type of workshops. Registrations are now open for expressions of interest in our range of activities. Please register by filling out the form on this page and we will be in touch shortly!
EXCITING WORKSHOPS ALWAYS IN DEVELOPMENT!
They say that everyone has a story to tell. The ability to tell our own stories has been the cornerstone of civilisations for millennia. It is the reason why our old legends survive, converted from oral tales to beautiful, leather-bound story books.
The Literature Factory Creative Writing Programs are for both children and adults, and each group reaps a different benefit from the set up of our program.
Children, whether they be in primary or high school, benefit enormously from creative writing. In most circumstances, a desire to write stems from a love of reading, and both of these activities work to increase the vocabulary banks of students. Our facilitators work closely with our participants to step you through the creative writing process, including structure, plot, characters, genre, vocabulary, settings, syntax and more.
Whether you or your child wants to enter story writing competitions, work at something that you love or improve skills in imaginative writing, we can help.
Whether you are an aspiring author, in need of a copy editor or simply want to brush up on your creative writing skills, our Creative Writing Program is for adults as well.
If you can't find what you want here, please contact us with your specific interests and requirements and we are sure to find a solution for you.
